Terms of Service
Last updated: February 17, 2026
1. Service Description
GetPaid is a document preparation service that helps freelancers and small business owners generate escalation emails and formal demand letters for unpaid invoices. GetPaid is NOT a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and is not a debt collection agency. The documents generated are templates based on publicly available legal information and are intended to be reviewed and sent by the user.
2. User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for reviewing all generated documents for accuracy before sending them. You acknowledge that all communications are sent from you, not from GetPaid. You must ensure that all information you provide (invoice amounts, dates, names, etc.) is accurate and truthful. You agree not to use GetPaid to harass, threaten, or make false claims against any party.
3. No Guarantee of Payment Recovery
GetPaid does not guarantee that using our service will result in the recovery of any unpaid amounts. The effectiveness of demand letters and escalation emails depends on many factors outside our control. We provide document preparation tools only and make no representations about the outcome of any dispute.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GetPaid and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific case in question.
5. Refund Policy
All purchases are final. Documents are generated immediately upon payment. Because our service delivers digital content that is produced and made available to you instantly, we do not offer refunds once a case has been created and documents have been generated.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use GetPaid only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You shall not use the service to:
- Generate documents containing false or misleading information
- Harass, threaten, or intimidate any person or entity
- Attempt to collect debts that are not legitimately owed to you
- Violate any applicable federal, state, or local law or regulation
- Impersonate a lawyer, law firm, or debt collection agency
7. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Delaware.
8. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
